Acupressure and Tui Na

What is Tui Na?

Tui Na is a form of therapeutic massage or “body-work”. It shares the same principles as Acupuncture. The difference is that instead of needles, pressure is applied in various ways to the meridians and Acu-points on the body.

Acupressure is a simpler treatment similar to Tui Na.

Tui Na can be a very effective addition or alternative to acupuncture. It is widely practiced in Chinese hospitals and clinics where for example stroke patients can receive regular treatment to great effect.

It is mainly for muscle and bone problems but can be good for conditions such as headache, insomnia, stress and digestive problems. Normally the patient wears light clothing though healing oils are sometimes used.
